The short version

The free will generator runs entirely in your browser. Your name, your family, your assets — none of it is sent to will.com servers. We don’t see it, store it, or share it. When you close the tab, your data stays on your device.

The only data will.com receives is anonymous site analytics (page views, no personal information) and, if you opt in, your email address for annual will-review reminders.

What we collect

Will data — nothing

The will questionnaire runs entirely client-side. All answers you enter are processed in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is transmitted to will.com servers at any point. The generated PDF is created in your browser and downloaded directly to your device.

Your draft answers are saved to your browser’s localStorage so you can resume where you left off. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for will.com.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics, which collects anonymous, aggregated data: page views, referrer, country, device type, and browser. No cookies are set. No personal information is collected. No cross-site tracking. We use this to understand which pages are useful and to detect errors.

Email address (optional)

After you download your will, you may optionally enter your email address to receive an annual reminder to review your will. This is entirely optional. If you provide your email:

  • It is used only to send that annual reminder.
  • It is not sold, shared, or used for marketing.
  • You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Cookies

The free tier of will.com does not set any cookies. Vercel Analytics uses a privacy-preserving approach that does not require cookies for basic analytics.

Third-party services

will.com is hosted on Vercel. As with any website, your IP address and standard HTTP request headers are visible to our hosting provider when you load pages. Vercel’s privacy policy governs that data.

We do not embed third-party trackers, advertising pixels, or social media widgets on any page of will.com.

Children

will.com is intended for adults (18 and older). We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and note it in our changelog.
