Recording your Alaska POA

Alaska requires (or permits) recording of the POA at the recorder for the recording district where the property lies when it covers real property. See Alaska Stat. §40.17.020 (recording district where the affected land is located); §40.17.030 (formal requisites for recording).

Recording isn't required for a POA used only for financial accounts, but it's needed before your agent can sell, lease, or mortgage real estate on your behalf.
