Recording your Alaska POA
The sections Alaska cites govern recording the agent's conveyance: a conveyance eligible for recording may be offered only in the recording district where the land is located (Alaska Stat. §40.17.020(a)), and §40.17.030(a) lists what a document needs to be eligible for recording. Neither section requires the power of attorney itself to be recorded. One rule does turn on recording: an agent may revoke a transfer on death deed only if a recorded power of attorney, or the deed itself, expressly grants that power (§13.48.070(e)).
The recording office is the recorder for the recording district where the property lies. See Alaska Stat. §40.17.020 (recording district where the affected land is located); §40.17.030 (formal requisites for recording).
